I enjoy directing. I enjoy editing, shooting, writing, producing. And I do them all well. My experience in each area enhances my expertise in the others. I know what the editor needs, what the director wants, what the client expects, what the videographer can achieve and what the producer is responsible for.
I understand the technical aspects of production as well as the interactions with clients. I can rewrite a script while directing, or while editing.
I am a strong advocate of thorough pre-production planning. Everything that can be done before a shoot to ensure its success -- goals, artistry, budget, schedule, client relations, minimal stress -- should be. When directing dramatic productions, I'll block the scenes in great detail before production, so when we're on the set, we'll be ready to go.
When arriving on location, there should be no surprises.
But when there are, they need to be dealt with
efficiently.
Time is money. Too much time takes away
from the quality of the final product. And that's what
it's
all about.
